Hicran Akaalp was born in Mardin, Turkey, in 1980. A self-taught photographer, she focuses on cultural superstitions, still life, surrealism, and documentary photography. Mostly she works on long term photo-based projects. She also interested in video art and short movies. At 2019, she directed short movie called ‘Harmony’. Her work explores community and the interactions within it. She loves creating images that make the viewer not only feel as if they are stepping into the real but also into the dream.
